Collateral Assessment Officer at Equity Bank Rwanda

Collateral Assessment Officer

Reporting to the Collateral Assessment Manager; Collateral Assessment ocer will carry out day-to-day gauging duties; being the main point for technical advice on site, managing quality control and support the Bank in maintaining a high level of health and safety of its Assets.

Key Responsibilities And Accountabilities

  • Provide independent opinion before Loan Disbursement and ensuring all perils & hazards Insurance Policy cover on Properties are obtained through a Bank approved insurance company.
  • Search property legal right records, do property cadastral plans survey for subject property (Collateral), to obtain information about property boundaries and legitimacy.
  • Reviewing all Loan securities provided by customers time to time and ensures the Bank margins are observed.
  • To carry out Cadastral Surveys, locating boundary features and services; to verify deed and Land Certicate plans; to identify easements and way leaves; and to liaise with Service Providers as appropriate.
  • Prepare and maintain sketches, maps, reports, and legal descriptions to ensure the Bank is secured.
  • Determine longitudes and latitudes of important features and boundaries in survey areas using satellite-based global positioning systems (GPS).
  • Verify the accuracy of assessment data including measurements and calculations conducted.
  • Reviewing Sites visit report and re-visit the same for Proper recommendations once advised.
  • Being key focal person in mitigating Risks and ensure every security is duly perfected with Rwanda Development Board (BRD) before issuing loan agreement (oer letter)
  • Any other duty Assigned by the line manager.

Qualification, Experience, Skills, and Attribute

  • Bachelor’s degree in estate Management and Evaluation (EMV) with a minimum of 3 of years’ experience in practicing valuation work.
  • Having required Skilled and practice in valuation work
  • Having Recommendation letter from the senior/Registered valuer He/she was practicing under his or her supervision.
  • Holding an IRPV recommendation that proves that you are being trained to be a professional valuer.
