TRAINING ON BUSINESS ANALYTICS USING ADVANCED EXCEL AND POWER BI – 2025

Microsoft Excel and Power BI are among the most widely used tools that enable individuals to transform raw data into actionable insights. While Excel provides advanced capabilities for data cleaning, manipulation, and analysis, Power BI enhances these functions with interactive dashboards and visual reporting that support strategic decision-making.
To meet this need, EduConnect Rwanda is organizing a professional training on Business Analytics using Advanced Excel and Power BI in 2025. This program will provide participants with hands-on experience, real-world case studies, and interactive projects, equipping them with skills directly applicable to their academic, professional, and business careers.
OBJECTIVES
The main goals of the training were to:
- Strengthen participants’ knowledge of Advanced Excel functions such as Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, and data cleaning.
- Train participants on Power BI basics to create interactive reports and dashboards.
- Build capacity to analyze, interpret, and present data effectively for decision-making.
- Provide hands-on practice with real datasets to build confidence in solving business problems.
- Equip participants with business analytics skills relevant for today’s job market.
- Enhance participants’ ability to use data for personal, academic, and professional growth.

This training is designed for:
- Business professionals and managers.
- University students and fresh graduates.
- Data analysts, researchers, and M&E officers.
- Entrepreneurs and innovators.
- Anyone interested in business analytics and data-driven decision-making.
TRAINING DURATION
The training will take place Y&T Cocktail Bar and Creperie REMERA (Hybrid session) over 6 days in weekends program: 20 to 28September 2025, allowing participants to balance learning with their academic commitments. Each day includes two sessions:
- Morning session: 9:00 AM to 13:00 PM
METHODOLOGY
This Professional Training on Business Analytics using Excel and Power BI will run from 9:00 AM to 13:00 PM, combining short lectures, live demonstrations, and hands-on practice with real data. The training is designed to be friendly and accessible for all participants, regardless of background.
Each session will include interactive activities and short quizzes to reinforce key lessons, with Kahoot games and small prizes to make learning engaging and fun. In addition, participants will benefit from short presentations on business insights and real-world scenarios, where data is applied to generate actionable business solutions. These case-based discussions will help participants understand how analytics can directly support decision-making, strategy, and organizational growth.
EXPECTED OUTCOMES
Upon completion, participants will:
- Gain strong skills in Advanced Excel for data cleaning, analysis, and reporting.
- Learn how to use Power BI to create dynamic dashboards and visual reports.
- Apply Excel and Power BI to solve real-world business and organizational challenges.

EVALUATION AND CERTIFICATION
Participants will complete a capstone project using Advanced Excel and Power BI to demonstrate their learning. Successful participants will receive a Certificate of Completion issued by EduConnect Rwanda, verifying their competence in business analytics.
