For those who are struggling with procrastination

Procrastination is the act of unnecessarily and voluntarily delaying or postponing something despite knowing that there will be negative consequences for doing so.

It is a common human experience involving delays in everyday chores or even putting off tasks such as attending an appointment, submitting a job report or academic assignment, or broaching a stressful issue with a partner

1. Understand Why:

Procrastination isn’t just laziness. It can be fear of failure, perfectionism, or even fear of success.

Recognize the root cause to tackle it effectively.

2. Break It Down:

A big task can seem daunting. Divide it into smaller, manageable tasks.

Completing each one will give you a sense of accomplishment.

3. Use the “2-Minute Rule”:

If it takes less than 2 minutes, do it now.

For bigger tasks, just start – often, that’s the hardest part.

4. Eliminate Distractions:

Clear your workspace. Use apps like “Forest” To Do List” to maintain concentration you will plan your day by writing the tasks you wanna achieve

Set specific periods to check your phone or social media.

5. Reward Yourself:

Set up a reward system.

For instance, after working diligently for an hour, take a 10-minute break.

Go and buy yourself something you like . It can be food or a t shirt

Whatever you love..

Reward urself

6. Visualize the End Result:

Think about the satisfaction and relief you’ll feel once the task is done.

Or the feeling of ending your day exactly how you wanted

7. Accountability Partner:

Share your goals with a friend someone you trust..

But for those who trust nobody,

Just do

Regular check-ins with yourself (u can record yourself)

It can motivate you to stay on track.

8. Set Deadlines:

Even if one doesn’t exist, creating a personal deadline can instill a sense of urgency.

9. Mindset Shift:

Change your language. Instead of saying “I have to”, say “I choose to”.

This simple switch empowers you, reminding you it’s a choice, not an obligation.
