WORKSHOP MANAGER
Job Description
Responsible for planning, job allocation and job flow in the workshop and on site for repair jobs. This work involves the servicing and repair of light and heavy Agricultural equipment such as tractors, towed agricultural equipment, excavators, wheel loaders, etc.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of equipment, machinery, and vehicles.
- Provide proactive maintenance programs
- Coordinate all activities in the workshop
- Leading and motivating a team of mechanics, technicians, and workshop staff
- Manage costs for repairs and spare parts in the interest of the company
- Ensure adequate stock levels and timely ordering of supplies.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory and usage.
- Ensure all work is completed on time and to a high standard.
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements and Skills
- Must have a minimum 3 years’ experience repairing machinery, vehicles and equipment
- Must have hands on experience leading and managing equipment maintenance Workshop
- Must possess driver’s license at least categories B and F with a clean driving record
- Physical stamina and dexterity to perform tasks in outdoor environments and adverse weather conditions.
- Willingness to adhere to company policies and procedures, including safety protocols and environmental regulations.
- Focused and Driven
- Excellent leadership and communication skills (Kinyarwanda and English)
- Strong creative thinking, resolution and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work under pressure and handle stress
- Flexibility in working hours is required,
- Fluency in written and spoken English
Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Automotive Engineering
- Strong technical knowledge of machinery, equipment, and vehicles.
- Certificate of vocational aptitude in heavy equipment repair is a plus
- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Proficiency in using maintenance management software and other relevant tools.
