Role Description
The Tax and Advisory Partner is a senior leadership position responsible for driving the firm’s growth through effective client management, delivery of tax and advisory services, and mentoring teams. The role involves leveraging technical expertise to provide innovative solutions, fostering client relationships, and ensuring compliance with professional standards and regulations. This is a full-time on-site role for a Partner in Tax & Advisory services at SA Consulting in Kigali, Rwanda . The role involves providing expert tax advice and strategic business advisory services to clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Client and Business Development:
- Build, maintain, and deepen long-term relationships with key clients, ensuring client satisfaction and loyalty.
- Develop and execute strategies to attract new clients and expand service offerings for existing clients.
- Represent the firm at industry events, forums, and professional networks to enhance visibility.
Tax Advisory and Compliance:
- Provide expert advice on tax planning, compliance, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Interpret complex tax regulations to advise clients on structuring transactions and managing tax liabilities.
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and ensure clients remain compliant with local and international requirements.
- Prepare and review all types of tax returns for clients in accordance to local legal requirements.
- Assume full responsibility for tax engagements
- In connection with engagements, be responsible for personnel scheduling, compliance with due dates, and monitoring of time budgets
- Motivate and assist staff in their professional development
Advisory Services:
- Deliver tailored advisory services, including Internal Audit, Bookkeeping. mergers & acquisitions, risk management, and financial planning.
- Prepare client’s financial statements as per the requirement of engagement.
- Analyze clients’ financial and operational performance to recommend strategic improvements.
- Collaborate with clients on growth strategies, governance, and regulatory compliance.
Leadership and Team Management:
- Mentor and develop a team of managers and associates to achieve professional growth and high performance.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive culture within the team and across the firm.
- Contribute to the firm’s strategic direction and operational planning as part of the leadership team.
Financial Performance and Risk Management:
- Manage the financial performance of the practice area, including budgeting, revenue growth, and profitability.
- Ensure engagements are delivered on time, within scope, and to high standards of quality.
- Maintain compliance with ethical, legal, and professional standards in all engagements
Qualifications
- CPA (Rwanda), ACCA qualified or finalist. MBA from a reputable university.
- At least 5 years’ experience in tax planning, compliance, and advisory services in Rwanda
- Proven track record of managing client relationships and leading large engagements.
- Audit firm experience of managing Tax services in Rwanda is required.
- Strong knowledge of local and international tax regulations
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Must be currently present and working in Rwanda.
- Rwandan national preferred. However, the position is open to expats currently working in Rwanda.
